How the matching works

You write the rules. The rules run every time.

NikkahDesk is a platform, not a person with a notebook. Your requirements are applied by software, in the same way, to every profile, on every run. Here is exactly what that does and what it deliberately does not do.

The whole mechanism, in four steps

  1. You state your requirements once, in a brief that takes about six minutes. Age range, sect, practice, marital status, education, countries, and anything you will not compromise on.
  2. Those become filters, not preferences. A profile that fails any one of them is removed from your list before you ever see it.
  3. What survives is checked before it is sent. Identity and photograph are verified, and every field is marked verified or declared so you can see which is which.
  4. Proposals arrive on WhatsApp, one or two a week. You reply to the assistant with your ticket number to ask anything, change a requirement, or reject one.

What it matches on

These are the actual fields in the brief. Nothing hidden, nothing inferred about you from anything else.

FieldHow it is used
AgeThe range you set, applied to date of birth. Not 'around thirty'.
Sect and practiceSect, and how you describe practice — prayer, hijab, whether you want a practising partner.
Marital statusNever married, divorced, khula, widowed — and whether you would accept a partner with children.
EducationThe minimum you state, as a level rather than an institution.
LocationWhere they live now, and which countries you would consider. These are often different questions.
Origin and languageDistrict of origin and mother tongue, where those matter to your family.
Your dealbreakersWritten in your own words at the end of the brief, and treated as absolute.

On the Standard package and above, matching runs both ways: they have to fit your requirements and you have to fit theirs. A proposal that only works in one direction wastes two families’ time.

What it will not do

This part matters more than the list above, because it is where most services in this market quietly do something else.

Not thisWhy
CompatibilityNothing here predicts whether two people will be happy. That is not a thing software knows, and anyone selling it is selling you a number they made up.
Beauty or desirabilityNo ranking, no scoring, no ordering of people by attractiveness. Profiles are not graded.
Who paid morePackage size changes how many proposals you receive and how quickly. It never changes who you are shown or where you appear in anyone else's list.
Anyone's opinion of youNo one decides your daughter is too educated, too tall, too old, or from the wrong family. The rules are the rules you wrote.

Why automated is the point, not the compromise

The usual worry is that a machine is deciding something a person should decide. It is worth being precise about what is actually being decided. The system decides which profiles are allowed to reach you. It never decides which one you should accept. That judgement stays entirely with your family, where it belongs.

And a rule has properties a person does not. It applies the fortieth time exactly as it applied the first. It does not get tired, does not decide your daughter is too educated, does not do somebody a favour, and does not push the profile of whoever paid the most this month. In a market that nobody licenses or audits, being unable to play favourites is a feature.

It also does not sleep. Registrations, ticket replies and proposal delivery run across three time zones, which is why a message from Lahore at two in the morning does not wait until an office opens in Barcelona.

How it gets better

Honestly rather than impressively: when a proposal reaches you that should not have, you send its number to the assistant, it is replaced free, and the rule that let it through is corrected. That loop is the improvement mechanism, and it is written into the refund policy rather than being a promise about the future.

We are not going to tell you the system learns from every match, because the register is new and that would be a claim about something that has not happened yet. What we can tell you is that a mistake costs us a replacement and costs you nothing, which is the incentive pointing the right way.

What we are, and are not

NikkahDesk is a matching platform for Pakistani families and for anyone looking for a Pakistani life partner, in Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Spain and the wider diaspora. That is the whole service.

We are not a law firm, an immigration adviser, or a religious authority. We do not give visa or immigration advice of any kind, we do not issue religious rulings, and we never guarantee a marriage. Our guides are written to be useful to families going through this, and each one says where its limits are and who to ask instead.

Common questions

Does a computer choose my daughter's husband?

No. You choose the rules and the system enforces them. It decides only which profiles are allowed to reach you, never which one you should accept. Every proposal you receive is one you and your family then judge in the ordinary way, and you can say no to all of them.

What does NikkahDesk match on?

The requirements you state in your brief: age range, sect, level of religious practice, marital status, whether you would accept a partner with children, minimum education, which countries you would consider, city and district of origin, mother tongue, and anything you list as a dealbreaker. Those are applied as hard filters, not preferences.

Is the matching automated?

Yes. Requirements are applied by software, every time, in the same way for every family. Support runs the same way: you get a ticket number and the assistant answers against it on WhatsApp. That is why replies take minutes rather than days, and why nobody is deciding your family is less important than another one.

How is this different from a matrimonial website?

A website hands you a directory and lets you filter it yourself, and the filters are suggestions the results ignore when the pool is thin. Here nothing about you is published, there is no directory to browse, and a profile that fails one of your requirements is never sent to you at all, however good the rest of it looks.

What if the system gets it wrong?

Send the proposal number to the assistant. If it did not meet the requirements you set, it is replaced free and does not count against your package, and the rule that let it through gets fixed. That is our error, not your loss to absorb.

Registration is free, and it tells you the count before you pay.

Write your requirements once and see how many profiles on the register actually meet them. Nothing about you is published, and your number never appears in a proposal.
